Sonoma/Valley of the Moon Historic Resource Survey Database

SVoMHRS is an online archive of information about more than 600 historic buildings and sites in the City of Sonoma, California and surrounding Sonoma Valley.

The first survey of historic resources in Sonoma and the Sonoma Valley was initiated nearly 40 years ago, in 1978-79, with a grant from the National Park Service.  This survey was updated in 1998. At that time, in addition to buildings, structures, and farms and other building complexes and landscape features were added to the historic record.

Funds for this survey update were applied for by the Sonoma County Planning Department, which was successful in obtaining financial support from the National Park Service, through the California Office of Historic Preservation (OHP).  As a result, these surveys are in the public domain. The National Park Service requires that the following statement be included whenever posting or publishing surveys funded by these funding sources:
